See Travertine & MarbleWhat Should Tile Installation in Tampa Include?
The tile is the last layer. Whether it stays flat, quiet and dry for years is decided underneath it.
- A flat slab. Large-format tile shows every dip as a raised edge between tiles. High spots get ground down and low spots filled before anything is set.
- Full mortar coverage. Tile that is only partly bonded sounds hollow when you tap it and is the tile that cracks first.
- Waterproofing in wet areas. Grout is not waterproof. In a shower, the membrane and the pan behind the tile keep the water out of the wall.
- Movement joints. Long runs of tile, doorways and the edges of the room need room to move. Without it, the floor finds its own place to crack.
- A planned layout. The pattern is set from the room’s main view, so the narrow cuts end up at the walls and under the cabinets, not in the middle of the floor.

More Than Tile
When a project runs from the bathroom to the living room and out to the pool deck, one contractor for all of it makes it easier to keep the materials and colors working together and to plan the work in the right order.

Tile Installation in Tampa: FAQ
What does tile installation cost in Tampa?
It depends on the job more than on the square footage. The tile format, how much old flooring comes out, how much leveling the slab needs, the pattern and the number of cuts all move the price. You get a written price for your room after the visit.
Can new tile be installed over existing tile?
Sometimes. It depends on whether the old tile is solid and fully bonded, whether any of it sounds hollow, and how much the extra height raises the floor at doors and transitions. We check that at the visit and tell you whether tiling over it or taking it out is the better call.
Porcelain or ceramic?
Porcelain absorbs less water and is harder through its body, so it is the usual choice for floors, showers and anywhere near the pool. Ceramic works well on walls and backsplashes, where it is easier to cut and costs less.
How long before you can walk on a new tile floor?
The mortar and grout set the wait, not the crew. Most thinset mortars ask for around 24 hours before foot traffic, and longer before heavy furniture goes back. We tell you the exact wait for the products used on your job.
Do you do the whole bathroom or only the tile?
Both. We remodel complete bathrooms, and we also take on tile-only jobs.
